FAQs
Unless you frequent high-risk contamination areas like hospitals, the CDC and WHO advise the use of simple cloth face coverings to slow the spread of the virus and help people who may have the virus and do not know it from transmitting it to others. Hence wearing a cloth mask or any form of facial covering prevents the transmission of Covid-19
No, all fabric, cloth, or surgical masks do not have medical-grade filtration that can keep out the virus but all cloth masks, as well as surgical masks, are designed to protect others from viruses spread by the mask wearer, not the other way around. When the masks are worn as a general habit, they aim to prevent people who are unaware that they are sick from unwittingly transmitting the virus to others
Multiple peer-reviewed pieces of research have found that ‘hybrid’ fabrics (aka layering multiple materials) were able to filter the vast majority of infectious particles. Efficacy of hybrids such as cotton-linen and cotton-silk was more than 80 percent for particles less than 300 nanometers in size and more than 90 percent for particles more than 300 nanometers in size. Hence we only use two different fabrics with high thread counts as they have been proven to work the best, rather than synthetic fabrics.
All our masks are handcrafted by daily wage artisans who have lost their jobs to the coronavirus pandemic. These artisans work from home under strict quarantine to create these eco-friendly and sustainable masks for you. Thanks to your decision to support them, they are now able to provide for their families in this time of uncertainty.
The CDC and WHO do not recommend heavy-duty respirators like N95 for the general public. N95 respirators are hard to breathe in and require special training to put on properly without which they provide ineffective safety. Additionally, they are in short supply along with the other PPE. By wearing fabric masks we can ensure the specialized medical-grade masks are left available to Corona Warriors and front line workers who are risking their lives for our safety.

All our products go through a strict multi-level sanitization process before they are hygienically packed. All masks are washed, sun-dried in a dust-free environment, and treated at a temperature higher than 56 degrees celsius before being shipped to you with love.
Unfortunately due to health concerns and to minimize the further spread of Covid 19, we cannot accept a mask back.
For each mask you purchase, we donate one mask to the less privileged. We prioritize giving masks to underprivileged children who need them the most. If you know someone or a community who needs masks kindly write to us at ecoandfaye@gmail.com
